The Dying Season is Hearts Fail's third album, released November 14th, 2009. Recorded over a period of three years, the album represents the band's strongest music to date, and boldly points towards a new direction for the group. Dark, sombre, defiant, and fragile, the songs on The Dying Season easily grasp the emotional power that the band has only hinted at in the past - a myriad of diverse drum beats, melodic basslines, lush guitar orchestration, powerful baritone vocals and poetic lyrics combine to create a sound that is comfortably familiar to fans of 80's post-punk and its recent revival, but also very unique and utterly contemporary in its rendering.
