當世上最棒的導演遇上最傳奇的樂隊，將碰撞出什么火花？影迷將于Martin Scorsese執導的Rolling Stones演唱會紀錄片Shine A Light，見證到跨領域大師的結合。

Martin Scorsese的年紀與Rolling Stones寫歌拍檔Mick Jagger & Keith Richards相差不到一歲。雖然一美一英，各有所成的領域也不相同，可論起老當益壯，這幾名六十多歲的家伙還真無退位之打算（雖然日前才有媒體披露，Rolling Stones計劃于這周日的倫敦演唱會后發表退休宣言，此后不再巡回。但這群老骨頭會不會在七十歲時來個告別地球巡演，卻也沒人說得準）。

Shine A Light的電影主體是去年10/29與11/1，兩場舉行于紐約Beacon Theatre，為了慶祝美國前總統Bill Clinton六十大壽的特別演出。由于一票難求，并非有錢便能入手，且受邀的都是有頭有臉的人物，這兩場演出曾于去年引起了眾多討論，尤其當時已傳出Martin Scorsese將親臨拍片。

替Shine A Light掌鏡的攝影師都是擁有奧斯卡背景的一時之選， 剪接師David Tedeschi已于No Direction Home展現其深厚功力，Rolling Stones更親自擔當了執行制作。至于內容，不只采用了大量的后臺實況、團員訪談，還援引了不少Rolling Stones攝于六零與七零年代的歷史影像。這種共冶一爐的敘事模式，是標準的Scorsese式手法，也讓Shine A Light甚受期待。

片名的出處，取自于1972年Rolling Stones經典專輯Exile On Main St.其中一首。而加拿大樂隊Wolf Parade首張大碟Apologies to the Queen Mary也恰有一曲名為Shine A Light。這究竟是巧合或別有致敬之意，此處就不得而知了。
