好萊塢有子承父業的明星家族，而在電影音樂領域亦有薪火相傳的電影音樂家族－Newman（紐曼）家族，30年代的Alfred Newman一手雕塑好萊塢電影黃金年代（30－60年）經典風華，Alfred Newman的弟弟萊諾在60年代接下Alfred先前執掌的福斯電影音樂部門，然后，Alfred的侄子Randy Newman則在70年代樹立美國式文采樂風并且慢慢走進電影音樂世界，Alfred的大兒子David Newman原來對指揮工作瘋狂熱愛，80年代末期才投入電影音樂圈，Alfred最小的兒子Thomas Newman則在80年代中期闖進電影音樂領域。這一個音樂世家用音符照亮好萊塢，Alfred曾45度提名奧斯卡，9度奪獎，完成《彗星美人》、《西部開拓史》、《國際機場》……等225部左右的作品，連至今仍膾炙人口的福斯電影公司影片放映前的開場序曲都是出自他手筆；Randy則以《媒體先鋒》、《玩具總動員》、《蟲蟲危機》、《歡樂谷》12度入圍奧斯卡電影音樂或歌曲項目角逐；David身兼日舞影藝學院的音樂總監，作過《玫瑰戰爭》、《超級巨人》、《轟天奇兵》……等。
