Jerry Goldsmith在2004年因病過世于比弗利山莊，享年75歲。曾獲18次奧斯卡提名，并獲波士頓伯克利音樂學院榮譽博士，Jerry Goldsmith將他的一生奉獻給電影音樂，被稱為電影配樂的巨人，不但由于他擅長帶給人們大場面的雄壯音樂，還有他對理想的堅持執著，以及事必躬親指揮樂團的敬業態度。他留下的不僅是曠世的音樂巨作，更是對音樂不朽的信念與精神。
