此片原聲由Jan A.P. Kaczmarek作曲。這部傳記片以19世紀的法國詩人蘭波和魏爾蘭的生活經歷為主要內容，形象生動地再現了他們獨特的關系。兩人因詩而相識，再由相識而成為戀人。魏爾蘭因此而拋下妻子，與蘭波流浪到倫敦，過著極為貧困潦倒的生活。途徑比利時，蘭波提出分手，被魏爾蘭開槍打傷。魏爾蘭因此入獄。之后，蘭波四處流浪，又有過15年的冒險生涯，足跡啟蒙及歐亞非三洲。病逝于馬賽時年僅37歲。
