Foals have mixed the next edition of !K7's Tapes series, which will be released in early July. The UK indie outfit is the third band selected to curate a Tapes compilation for !K7, after efforts from The Rapture and The Big Pink. Foals has linked up with crossover acts like The Field and Mount Kimbie for remix collaborations over the past few years, and Foals Tapes, the group's first official mix, reveals a similarly keen eye for the more experimental corners of club music. The mix will be released on CD, but its tracks are divided in half like on a cassette: one side is more song-oriented, the other is a bit more track-y. Side A features selections from Nicolas Jaar, Clark and John Talabot, among others, while Edwin Congreave (the main DJ in the band) uses Side B to work in tunes from Arnold Jarvis, Oni Ayhun, Jimmy Edgar and Midland.        Foals是由主唱/吉他手Yannis Philippakis、吉他手Jimmy Smith、貝斯手Walter Gervers、鼓手Jack Bevan、鍵盤(pán)手Edwin Congreave這五位20歲出頭年輕小伙子所組成的樂(lè)團(tuán)。 　　單曲「Balloons」曾進(jìn)軍英國(guó)單曲榜#39，NME大膽贊譽(yù)「New bands that will define the year!」 　　從Hot Chip、Klaxons、LCD Soundsystem等幾組團(tuán)體掀起近幾年燃燒全球的Dance-punk新浪潮音樂(lè)，這種將舞曲與搖滾調(diào)和的新一代曲風(fēng)漸漸普遍受到大眾的歡迎，在2008年的開(kāi)端，又一獨(dú)立廠牌樂(lè)團(tuán)大放異彩，持續(xù)這股新興浪潮推到頂點(diǎn)，NME大膽贊譽(yù)「New bands that will define the year!」 　　要將Foals歸類(lèi)是一件很難的事，不能說(shuō)他們是完全承襲哪一種曲風(fēng)的樂(lè)團(tuán)，團(tuán)員表示受極微音樂(lè)(Minimal Music)大師Steve Reich、Post-rock/Math-rock樂(lè)團(tuán)Sweep The Leg Johnny影響極深，他們幾乎每種風(fēng)格都全盤(pán)接受，也偏愛(ài)像賈斯汀、Gwen Stefani等時(shí)下流行的歌曲，應(yīng)該要說(shuō)他們是個(gè)集結(jié)以上影響并綜合來(lái)自四面八方的元素，包含Techno, Rock, Pop, Punk, Experimental等多種不同型態(tài)的風(fēng)格、五位思想離經(jīng)叛道的青年，造就曲風(fēng)光怪陸離、難以定位，卻又難以抗拒的Foals。
