Those Willows is an indie band based out of East Lansing, Michigan with a unique folk style infused with jazz and a touch of soul.Those Willows consists of three band members, all from Sterling Heights, Michigan. Jack Wells is the guitarist and drummer for the group. Melissa Tarter is co lead vocalist and Mike Tor is drum extraordinaire.Mel and Jack combined forces as Sunny Side Up in 2007 to create indie acoustic originals. Their sound has since evolved to incorporate a spectrum of genres including soul, folk, rock, and jazz. This process lead Mel and Jack to add a member, bassist, Mike Tor, in 2011. With the completion of their first full-length album, Rivertown, the band has chosen to part ways with the old and change their name to Those Willows. This album, Rivertown, is truly our labor of love.It took us eight long months to get it right. And they hope you think we got it right.
